Comments on Statement of Intent:

·         There is a lot of impressive content here – you’ve clearly thought about your concept in detail, the title and tagline are excellent and you use some media terminology and theory. However, I’m worried this doesn’t meet the brief. I know you address this in the statement but I just don’t think a pre-watershed show aimed at a family audience would have this narrative. One to think about and reflect on seriously.
·         In terms of word count, I think you have too much narrative description and not enough of the other aspects of the statement of intent.
·         You need a lot more media terminology in terms of the technical construction of your trailer – camera shots, sound, mise-en-scene, editing. Due to the word limit you won’t be able to include too much but choose a couple of shots with real significance/connotations alongside a couple of other aspects. Most importantly, you need to be specific both in terms of what you will create and what it communicates to the audience.
·         You need a section on representation and stereotyping (get some media theory in here too).
·         In general, you use the ‘easier’ media theorists (U&G, Todorov etc.) Can you bring in any of the more challenging theories?
·         No reference to the print product – you need to address the culture magazine element which is 50% of the brief.
·         I really like your hashtag ideas but can you develop this a little to address the digital convergence aspect of the statement of intent mark scheme?

Improvements:
i will add common stereotypes presented in the media in order to create a message on county lines - with the use of young teenagers
less use of drugs and strong editorial justifications in order to portray the message on how county lines leads to a negative lifestyle without glamorising it.
may also challenge theorists like todorov theory of equilibrium and that it does not lead to a new equilibrium
