Learners response Preliminery exercise

1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full plus a summary of the comments you received from other students in the class.
  • Audio the major issue in some of the scenes
  • it comes across much more as a trailer (which is the main brief_ rather than a scene (which was the prelim brief)
  • Music and slow motion is really effective
  • some good performances despite challenging/ serious topic
  • some good locations
  • Editing/titles need work
  • need a wider variety of shots in main production
WWW: Editing and sound track was good
Good use of parallel sound
Clear narrative
Good use of closeups and long shots
Good editing and shots
Good acting
Good props
Good idea

EBI: Background noice- wind
Sound
Seems like a music video
Quality
Music choice was very drastic when it changes to people speaking
Slo mo not needed
Sudden change in volume of sound

2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write three WWW bullet points and three EBI bullet points for your TV drama scene.

WWW:

  • Narative
  • acting of characters
  • Good use of prop
EBI:
  • Sound
  • Quality
  • Music choice

3) How effectively did you complete the objective you laid out in your mini preliminary exercise statement of intent?

I have changed my statement of intent massively due to the help of the ignite presentation whereby i have including stereotypes of young teens being involved in violence. For example Sajin my main character had been involved in gang violence that led to consequences of his brother being killed and that he takes further action to cause more violence which shows its a never ending cycle

4) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project?

I have learnt the importance of sound and quality and how to prevent errors like these. Furthermoe i learnt to use different angles to make it more realistic.

5) Now you have completed the preliminary exercise, will you change anything in your actual TV drama trailer? This could include narrative, character and script or technical elements such as mise-en-scene, camerawork and sound.

I would change the script to make it more clear and i would change the camer awork to add a sense of realism and make it easier for the audience to view. Also change the sound in my actual coursework
